For me pouring is a messy endeavor. I have watched videos of artists who wear gloves and pour over pans but that is just not me. There is paint everwhere! I had been pouring for months before I realized I could be creative with the mess I was creating. When pouring, the paint that spills off the canvas and onto the freezer paper. Given a few days to dry, you are left with a flexible piece of hardened paint called a skin.
After a bit of research, I realized I could make pendants and collages. I started with pendants because it was around the holidays, they made great gifts for friends and coworkers. Then I moved on to a collage, way more fun than making single pendants. Below is the collage I am working on now.
I found I was limited with the skins from more pours, I wanted to incorporate more colors and most of my pours were blue, green, and purple. I decided I would pour paint just to produce skins. Turns out it was just as much fun as pouring on a canvas and now I will able to add a variety of color to my current collage.
To be continued...
